Germany: Afghan Air Strike Brings Down Army Chief & Govt. Minister

November 27, 2009 - SCANDALS RELATING TO THE WAR IN AFGHANISTAN ARE ROCKING KEY NATO COUNTRIES.

Canada's role in facilitating the torture of suspects - many of them likely innocent - has become a central public issue here. In Britain the revelation that MI6 supported torture against British citizens in Pakistan has become a major issue. And, now in Germany, where anti-war sentiment is very high, the prosecution of the war is causing deep political damage.

Today the Labour Minister, formerly Defense Minister, Franz Josef Jung was forced to sign his own walking papers after it was revealed by the tabloid Bild that he knew about the killing of numerous civilians resulting from a Kunduz airstrike in September...

From Their Own Mouths: Global Warming is a Fraud

"We need to get some broad based support, to capture the public's imagination... So we have to offer up scary scenarios, make simplified, dramatic statements and make little mention of any doubts... Each of us has to decide what the right balance is between being effective and being honest." - Stephen Schneider, Stanford Professor of Climatology, lead author of many IPCC reports

"Unless we announce disasters no one will listen." - Sir John Houghton, first chairman of IPCC

"It doesn't matter what is true, it only matters what people believe is true." - Paul Watson, co-founder of Greenpeace

"We've got to ride this global warming issue. Even if the theory of global warming is wrong, we will be doing the right thing in terms of economic and environmental policy." - Timothy Wirth, President of the UN Foundation

"No matter if the science of global warming is all phony... climate change provides the greatest opportunity to bring about justice and equality in the world." - Christine Stewart, fmr Canadian Minister of the Environment

"The only way to get our society to truly change is to frighten people with the possibility of a catastrophe." - emeritus professor Daniel Botkin

"We require a central organizing principle - one agreed to voluntarily. Minor shifts in policy, moderate improvement in laws and regulations, rhetoric offered in lieu of genuine change - these are all forms of appeasement, designed to satisfy the public’s desire to believe that sacrifice, struggle and a wrenching transformation of society will not be necessary." - Al Gore, Earth in the Balance

"Isn't the only hope for the planet that the industrialized civilizations collapse? Isn't it our responsiblity to bring that about?" - Maurice Strong, founder of the UN Environment Programme

"A massive campaign must be launched to de-develop the United States. De-development means bringing our economic system into line with the realities of ecology and the world resource situation." - Paul Ehrlich, Professor of Population Studies

"The only hope for the world is to make sure there is not another United States. We can't let other countries have the same number of cars, the amount of industrialization, we have in the US. We have to stop these Third World countries right where they are." - Michael Oppenheimer, Environmental Defense Fund

"Global Sustainability requires the deliberate quest of poverty, reduced resource consumption and set levels of mortality control." - Professor Maurice King

"Current lifestyles and consumption patterns of the affluent middle class - involving high meat intake, use of fossil fuels, appliances, air-conditioning, and suburban housing - are not sustainable." - Maurice Strong, Rio Earth Summit

"Complex technology of any sort is an assault on human dignity. It would be little short of disastrous for us to discover a source of clean, cheap, abundant energy, because of what we might do with it." - Amory Lovins, Rocky Mountain Institute

"The prospect of cheap fusion energy is the worst thing that could happen to the planet." - Jeremy Rifkin, Greenhouse Crisis Foundation

"Giving society cheap, abundant energy would be the equivalent of giving an idiot child a machine gun." - Prof Paul Ehrlich, Stanford University

"The big threat to the planet is people: there are too many, doing too well economically and burning too much oil." – Sir James Lovelock, BBC Interview

"My three main goals would be to reduce human population to about 100 million worldwide, destroy the industrial infrastructure and see wilderness, with it’s full complement of species, returning throughout the world." -Dave Foreman, co-founder of Earth First!

"A total population of 250-300 million people, a 95% decline from present levels, would be ideal." - Ted Turner, founder of CNN and major UN donor

"... the resultant ideal sustainable population is hence more than 500 million but less than one billion." - Club of Rome, Goals for Mankind

"If I were reincarnated I would wish to be returned to earth as a killer virus to lower human population levels." - Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, patron of the World Wildlife Fund

"I suspect that eradicating small pox was wrong. It played an important part in balancing ecosystems." - John Davis, editor of Earth First! Journal

"The extinction of the human species may not only be inevitable but a good thing." - Christopher Manes, Earth First!

"Childbearing should be a punishable crime against society, unless the parents hold a government license. All potential parents should be required to use contraceptive chemicals, the government issuing antidotes to citizens chosen for childbearing." - David Brower, first Executive Director of the Sierra Club

9/11 PENTAGON AIRCRAFT HIJACK IMPOSSIBLE: FLIGHT DECK DOOR CLOSED FOR ENTIRE FLIGHT

(PilotsFor911Truth.org) - Newly decoded data provided by an independent researcher and computer programmer from Australia exposes alarming evidence that the reported hijacking aboard American Airlines Flight 77 was impossible to have existed. A data parameter labeled "FLT DECK DOOR", cross checks with previously decoded data obtained by Pilots For 9/11 Truth from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) through the Freedom Of Information Act.

On the morning of September 11, 2001, American Airlines Flight 77 departed Dulles International Airport bound for Los Angeles at 8:20 am Eastern Time. According to reports and data, a hijacking took place between 08:50:54 and 08:54:11[1] in which the hijackers allegedly crashed the aircraft into the Pentagon at 09:37:45. Reported by CNN, according to Ted Olson, wife Barbara Olson had called him from the reported flight stating, "...all passengers and flight personnel, including the pilots, were herded to the back of the plane by armed hijackers..."[2]. However, according to Flight Data provided by the NTSB, the Flight Deck Door was never opened in flight. How were the hijackers able to gain access to the cockpit, remove the pilots, and navigate the aircraft to the Pentagon if the Flight Deck Door remained closed?[3]

Founded in August 2006, Pilots For 9/11 Truth is a growing organization of aviation professionals from around the globe. The organization has analyzed Data provided by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) for the Pentagon Attack, the events in Shanksville, PA and the World Trade Center attack. The data does not support the government story. The NTSB/FBI refuse to comment. Pilots For 9/11 Truth do not offer theory or point blame at this point in time. However, there is a growing mountain of conflicting information and data in which government agencies and officials along with Mainstream Media refuse to acknowledge. Pilots For 9/11 Truth Core member list continues to grow.

ACTA (Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement): another big step in Internet censorship

On November 3 2009, a war started. A war so possibly huge that it may destroy the whole Internet itself. ACTA was announced. The ACTA (Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement) is the first step towards Internet censorship. here is a brief summary of the act:

That ISPs have to proactively police copyright on user-contributed material. This means that it will be impossible to run a service like Flickr or JewTube or Blogger, since hiring enough lawyers to ensure that the mountain of material uploaded every second isn't infringing will exceed any hope of profitability.

That ISPs have to cut off the Internet access of accused copyright infringes or face liability. This means that your entire family could be denied to the Internet -- and hence to civic participation, health information, education, communications, and their means of earning a living -- if one member is accused of copyright infringement, without access to a trial or counsel.

That the whole world must adopt US-style "notice-and-takedown" rules that require ISPs to remove any material that is accused -- again, without evidence or trial -- of infringing copyright. This has proved a disaster in the US and other countries, where it provides an easy means of censoring material, just by accusing it of infringing copyright.

Currently these Country's are in the ACTA Program : "Participants in the first round of negotiations (June 2008) included Australia, Canada, EU, Japan, Jordan, Korea, Mexico, Morocco, New Zealand, Singapore, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates and the United States."

World debt bubble is increasing spectacularly

From the latest article by Bill Bonner. Excerpt:

"...this freak show cannot go on forever. The US has $2 trillion worth of short-term bills that must be refinanced in the next 12 months. It must also refinance about $1 trillion more of notes and bonds. That’s without adding any additional debt! So put a deficit of $1.5 trillion on top of that and you have $4.5 trillion of financing for the US alone.

But the US is not the only one fishing in this pond. Japan’s national debt already measures 200% of its GDP and is increasing rapidly. So far, Japan’s deficits have been financed internally. The Japanese saved 20% of their household incomes in 1980. But the Japanese are aging. When they retire, people cease saving and begin drawing on savings to cover living expenses. At the current pace, the household savings rate should fall to zero in 5 years. Then, who will buy Japan’s bonds? Who will cover Japan’s deficits? The same people who are supposed to cover America’s deficits?

Taken all together, the world’s governments will need $1 trillion per month, in financing, over the next 12 months, according to an estimate in the Financial Times. Who has that kind of money? Total US savings are only $700 billion. Even the Chinese, if they put their entire cash pile to it, could only fund the deficits for about 67 days’ worth. Warren Buffett? Less than 48 hours.

There is also the problem of paying the interest on rising debt loads. Thanks to the forgetfulness or credulity of the world’s lenders, borrowers now benefit from exceptionally low rates – just like the ‘teaser’ rates once accorded to sub-prime lenders. But the tease will come to an end soon. Even the Obama Administration forecasts interest payments to rise from $200 billion at present to $700 billion by 2019. This assumes interest rates only regress to ‘normal.’ " Read all here

A wedding cake of conspiracy theories

Referring to the following news:

The aliens demand Earthlings sign Copenhagen Treaty, claims government space scientist
Source: The Register

A boffin at the Bulgarian national Space Research Institute has stated that not only are aliens living among us, but that they object strongly to "immoral behaviour" by humanity - such as causing global warming. "Unnatural" acts such as use of cosmetics and "artificial insemination" are also frowned upon by the extraterrestrial visitors.
Luchezar Filipov, deputy head of the space institute at the government's Bulgarian Academy of Science, made these startling assertions to Bulgarian media earlier this week.

Excerpt from a commentary on The Daily Bell:

"...Having lost control of the conversation, the monetary elite is now in danger of what we call blowback.

These are indeed, paranoid fantasies. In the estimation of our more paranoid brethren they exist because the monetary elite is being so aggressive in promoting its own themes: global warming, the European Union, cap-and-trade, international financial regulation, endless war for endless peace (the war on terror). What WE will grant of late is veritable panoply of recent, online paranoia ...

- Aliens are among us (see above article excerpt)
- Aliens are dismembering cattle in Colorado
- Lady Gaga is an Illuminati slave
- Complex crop circles are reappearing
- Global warming is a sham
- Pager messages of 9/11 reveal no conspiracy
- Insider loans to financial institutions were egregious, though ultimately necessary. (See other article, this Bell.)

The idea, then, of the more paranoid among us is that the monetary elite is striking back against current analysis of its activities by turning up the volume on some of its most dominant social themes. First, through selective leaks, acknowledging that certain accusations are NOT credible, while others actually are (by acknowledging some but not all of it, the conversation can be controlled and the damage minimized.) Second, return with force to themes of fear and chaos as embodied by secret societies and alien presences.

As indicated above, we do not intend to provide many more details. You can look for these stories yourself on the ‘Net. We do note that - conspiracy theory aside - there have been an unusual number of surprising leaks as of late, with the release of 9/11 pager calls and the global warming emails being only two of the most notable. And, yes, anyone who watches Lady Gaga's videos, especially "Bad Romance" would be struck by what the Internet popularly presents as "Illuminati" symbolism. The girl is off the hook.

Conclusion: Those with money (and lots of it) have a big interest in aliens. (Laurence Rockefeller virtually funded the current aliens-among-us movement by pouring hundreds of millions into alien-oriented think tanks.) And it is a very interesting idea that one way to confuse - and defuse - a conversation is by selective leaking alongside an ongoing emphasis of certain themes that offer a message of hopelessness and even fear. But, please ... in this case we are merely the messenger and are not responsible for the message." Read all here

How the Treasury secretary—and U.S. taxpayers—were fleeced by Wall Street banks

The new AIG report reveals how the Treasury secretary—and U.S. taxpayers—were fleeced by Wall Street banks
By Eliot Spitzer, Slate Nov. 23, 2009

The issue has been festering for months: Why were AIG's counterparties—including Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, and UBS—paid 100 cents on the dollar when the feds rescued the insurance giant, helping raise the cost of the bailout to nearly $200 billion? A new report issued by Special Inspector General Neil Barofsky now reveals that government officials, notably then-New York Fed President and current Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, grievously damaged the nation and capitulated to the very banks they should have been supervising.

Barofsky's report reads like a case study in failed negotiation. The New York Fed didn't have the backbone to stand up to Wall Street, didn't understand its capacity to protect taxpayers, and didn't appreciate that its responsibility was to taxpayers.

Geithner and the Fed have proffered a series of spurious reasons for their willingness to pay AIG's counterparties—the leading Wall Street banks—in full while demanding concessions from every other entity with whom the Treasury or the Fed dealt. ... Read all

White House Visitor Logs Show Obama Turned To Business Leaders

In case you wondered who decides on "public policies":

HuffPo 11-25-09 Excerpt:

Through its first nine months in office, the Obama administration frequently consulted with leaders of the business and financial communities they were saving from the brink of collapse, according to a review of White House visitor log records released on Wednesday.

Chamber of Commerce CEO Tom Donohue visited the White House on ten different occasions, an administration aide confirms. He met twice with the president, twice with his chief economic consultant, Larry Summers and three times with Obama's business liaison, Valerie Jarrett. In the past few months, the Chamber has found itself embroiled in a bitter fight with the administration on health care policy and regulatory reform, which may explain why none of the visits have occurred since June.

Donohue wasn't the only frequent invitee from the business world. John J. Castellani, president of The Business Roundtable, was also a visitor at the White House on seven different occasions. Twice he came as an audience member for a business council speech. Once he was there for a meeting with the White House's chief health care adviser, Nancy-Ann DeParle. Once he met in the East Room with the president.

Edward Yingling, the president of the American Bankers Association, visited the White House on six occasions --five of which have been previously reported. Often the visits were to discuss issues of bank and credit card policy as well as the housing market. Some of these meetings were formal discussions with other business tycoons. On one occasion Yingling did meet with the president himself, according to a review of White House visitor log records released on Wednesday.

Former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan visited the administration on six different occasions, twice to talk with OMB Director Peter Orszag and once to meet with Summers (as has been previously reported). As noted during the last release of White House visitor logs, CEOs of banks that received billions in taxpayer-funded bailouts also were granted an audience with the administration. Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein made three visits, and JP Morgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon stopped by six times.

Business wasn't the only topic that brought visitors to the White House. Health care reform was another big draw..." Read all

Bailed-Out AIG Forcing Poor to Choose Between Running Water and Food

By Yasha Levine, AlterNet. Posted November 26, 2009.
Thanks to AIG, some of the poorest residents of rural Kentucky learned you can always be made poorer by corporate villains.

What are we getting in return for the bailout? So far, predatory credit card rates, exorbitant bank fees and obscene Wall Street bonuses. But we're being robbed in other, sneakier ways, too. It seems that taxpayers in the poorest, most vulnerable parts of the county are getting plundered by the same institutions they bailed out. One example is AIG's underhanded fleecing of residents of rural Kentucky. Read all

Shock doctrine in the USA

By Mike Whitney, Counterpunch November 27 - 29, 2009. Excerpt:

"...There's no recovery. Figure it out. Bank profits went up last quarter, but lending went down significantly. Now, that's a neat trick. How did they manage that?

They did it with the money they're getting from the Fed. Bernanke has provided broken banks and other financial institutions with trillions of dollars that are being diverted into high-risk assets, carry trades (with the zero-rate dollar as the funding currency) and speculative derivatives bets. The same bubble that just blew up a year ago has been reflated thanks to Bernanke's largesse and gigantic re-leveraging. Main Street is in a Depression, but Wall Street is doing just fine.

Even so, there is no sign of inflation anywhere and the government is able to borrow capital at record low costs. Last week 3-month Treasuries went negative while the 2-year T-bill has fallen off a cliff. Why? Because Bernanke ended the guarantee on money markets so investors are fleeing to safety again. Ordinary retail investors who can't do bigtime cross-border currency transactions or High Frequency Trading, need a place to hide. Hence, USTs. They're forking over their money to Uncle Sam for under 1 percent interest. It's highway robbery. At the same time, consumer credit is shrinking, bank lending is down, and 1 out of 4 homeowners is upside-down. Money is not moving and the economy is on a ventilator. We need more stimulus.

But there won't be another round of stimulus because Summers and his sniveling companion Geithner won't allow it. They have other plans. Oh yeah, Wall Street and the banking Goliaths will still get as much monetary stimulus as they need (under the phony moniker of "quantitative easing", liquidity swaps, or excess reserves) But as for the working slob -- zilch.

Summers’ assignment is to bring the broader economy to its knees; to crush big labor by keeping unemployment high, to force state and local and governments to privatize more public assets and services, and to generate as much human misery as possible. In short, Summers is laying the groundwork for structural adjustment within the US, a policy which reflects his ongoing commitment to multinational corporations and neoliberalism. It's the shock doctrine redux. These people are monsters." Read all

No Fair Election In Honduras Under Military Occupation:

As the Honduran election approaches this Sunday, let's be clear about the conditions under which it is taking place. Human rights abuses are rampant, freedom of speech is under attack, and the election process is in the hands of the very people who perpetrated the coup.

Deja vu all over again

From the latest Uncle Ernie's Issues and Alibis:

"... The British under Prime Minister William Lamb, aka The Viscount Melbourne was the first westerner to stumble into Afghanistan since Alexander the Great who had the sense to get out after a couple of years. It was the first Afghan war 1839-1842 where he got the British Army wiped out, save one single man and caused the Irish Potato famine and other financial disasters back home. Needless to say Billie lost his gig as Prime Minister.

Not satisfied with that England's only Jewish Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli, aka The Earl of Beaconsfield, started the second Afghan war 1878-80, got beaten again which caused the Great Depression throughout Europe that lasted well past the turn of the century and like Billie, Benny was toast as PM.

Finally the 3rd Afghan war fought from May till August in 1919 and won for the Afghans their final independence from Britain. Although the British claimed victory, they lost twice as many troops as the Afghans did, even with their bomber and fighter aircraft. The end result was that they lost India and Prime Minister David Lloyd George was a one-termer!

Of course, Russia's ten year disaster cost them their empire and their first world status not to mention the PM jobs of Kosygin, Tikhonov, Ryzhkov, Pavlov and Silayev. Which is why they're so happy to help Obama remain in the Afghan quagmire.

Which means we can expect a Palin/Beck win in 2012. Thanks Barry, thanks a lot! Oh, and if a Palin Presidency isn't a sign of the Apocalypse I don't know what is!"

Suffolk Judge Jeffrey Spinner wiped out $525,000 in mortgage payments demanded by a California bank, blasting its "harsh, repugnant, shocking and repulsive" acts. The bombshell decision leaves Diane Yano-Horoski and her husband, Greg Horoski, owing absolutely no money on their ranch house in East Patchogue. Lieutenant-General Pichet Wisaijorn, regional commander of the Thai 4th army, told reporters in Thailand’s capital on 18 November that “things are getting better, the number of violent incidents are down, and the traditional life of villagers in the south is returning.” Read more ....

Climate cash is 'unaccounted for'

A Copenhagen "success" should allow the following on a most grandiose scale. Here is the motive of the "global warming" hoax - a global fraud:

BBC November 25, 2009

Large sums promised to developing countries to help them tackle climate change cannot be accounted for, a BBC investigation has found.

Rich countries pledged $410m (£247m) a year in a 2001 declaration - but it is now unclear whether the money was paid. UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has accused industrialised countries of failing to keep their promise.

The EU says the money was paid out in bilateral deals, but admits it cannot provide data to prove it. The money was pledged in the 2001 Bonn Declaration, signed by 20 industrialised nations - the 15 countries that then made up the European Union, plus Canada, Iceland, New Zealand, Norway and Switzerland. They said they would pay $410m per year until 2008. The date the payments were meant to start is unclear, but the total should be between $1.6bn and $2.87bn.

The declaration said: "We are prepared to contribute $410m, which is 450 million euro, per year by 2005 with this level to be reviewed in 2008."
But only $260m has ever been paid into two UN funds earmarked for the purpose, the BBC World Service investigation has found.

"There have been promises which have not been fully materialised. There is an issue of trust," says Ban Ki-moon. The question of finance for developing countries to tackle climate change is one of the keys to a deal at the Copenhagen summit next month.

Poor countries may not sign up to a new agreement unless they trust rich countries to keep their promises, and are satisfied with the mechanisms put in place to handle the flow of funds.

Unequal sums
The industrialised governments which drew up the Bonn Declaration say they never intended to put the money just into the UN funds. The Declaration allowed them to spend it in "bilateral and multilateral" ways, they say.
Artur Runge-Metzger, the senior climate change negotiator for the European Union, maintains the EU has lived up to its end of the bargain.
"We can say we met the promise, climate finance has really been stepped up," he argues. However he admits the EU cannot provide data to show it did pay the money through these bilateral and multilateral means. "It's sometimes very hard to say what is the climate bit of this financing," he says.

Richard Myungi, a climate change negotiator for the Least Developing Countries says: "We feel frustrated, we feel betrayed."
Boni Biagini, who runs the UN funds, also believes much more money should have been paid in. "These numbers don't match the $410m per year. Otherwise, we'd be handling billions of dollars by now," he says.

Confusion
Dr Marc Pallemaerts, who drafted the Bonn Declaration in 2001 when he was the deputy chief of staff for the European Union's Belgian Presidency, admits some developing countries may have been led to believe the promised money would go solely into the UN funds. "Some countries may have been genuinely misled - others knew it was deliberate ambiguity," he maintains.

The Bonn Declaration is surrounded by confusion and has led to mistrust between developed and developing countries. UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon says any new financing agreement signed at Copenhagen must be clear.
"This whole agreement and negotiation should be based on trust and confidence," he says. He adds that any new financing deal must be "measurable, reportable and verifiable". © BBC MMIX

More: The Story of Cap and Trade is a fast-paced, fact-filled, entertaining look at the leading climate mitigation strategy being imposed by elites at the Copenhagen summit and in Washington and most other capitals and financial centers. Host Annie Leonard introduces the people at the heart of this scheme - energy traders and Wall Street financiers. The "devils in the details" in current cap and trade proposals are unveiled: free permits to big polluters, fake offsets and distractions from what’s really required to tackle the climate crisis. If you’ve heard about Cap and Trade, but aren’t sure how it works (or who benefits), this is the film is for you. See the trailer/teaser here: http://storyofstuff.org/capandtrade/

The Jimi Hendrix Political Harassment, Kidnap and Murder Experience

Interesting article here. Quote:

He didn't die from a drug overdose. He was not an out-of-control dope fiend. Jimi Hendrix was not a junkie. And anyone who would use his death as a warning to stay away from drugs should warn people against the other things that killed Jimi—the stresses of dealing with the music industry, the craziness of being on the road, and especially, the dangers of involving oneself in a radical, or even unpopular, political movements.

COINTELPRO was out to do more than prevent a Communist menace from overtaking the United States, or keep the Black Power movement from burning down cities. COINTELPRO was out to obliterate its opposition and ruin the reputations of the people involved in the antiwar movement, the civil rights movement, and the rock revolution. Whenever Jimi Hendrix's death is blamed on drugs, it accomplishes the goals of the FBI's program. It not only slanders Jimi's personal and professional reputation, but the entire rock revolution in the 60's. — John Holmstrom. "Who Killed Jimi?"(1)
As the music of youth and resistance fell under the cross-hairs of the CIA's CHAOS war, it was probable that Jimi Hendrix—the tripping, peacenik "Black Elvis" of the '60s—should find himself a target.

Agents of the pathologically nationalistic FBI opened a file on Hendrix in 1969 after his appearance at several benefits for "subversive" causes. His most cutting insult to the state was participation in a concert for Jerry Rubin, Abbie Hoffman, Tom Hayden, Bobby Seale and the other defendants of the Chicago Seven conspiracy trial.(2) ...

"Get [the] Black Panthers," he told a reporter for a teen magazine, "not to kill anybody, but to scare [federal officials]....I know it sounds like war, but that's what's gonna have to happen. It has to be a war....You come back to reality and there are some evil folks around and they want you to be passive and weak and peaceful so that they can just overtake you like jelly on bread. ... You have to fight fire with fire."(3) Read all

The Meltdown of the Global Warming Hoax

Obama's Science Czar John Holdren involved in unwinding "Climategate" scandal

A message to the environmental movement
...You knew that Al Gore was not a scientist, that his evidence was factually incorrect, that the movement was being taken over by a cause that was not your own, one that relied on beliefs you did not share to propose a solution you did not want.

It began to reach a breaking point when you saw that the solutions being proposed were not solutions at all, when they began to propose new taxes and new markets that would only serve to line their own pockets.

You knew something was wrong when you saw them argue for a cap-and-trade scheme proposed by Ken Lay, when you saw Goldman Sachs position itself to ride the carbon trading bubble, when the whole thrust of the movement became ways to make money or spend money or raise money from this panic.

Your movement had been hijacked. The realization came the first time you read The Club of Rome's 1991 book, The First Global Revolution, which says:

"In searching for a common enemy against whom we can unite, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like, would fit the bill. In their totality and their interactions these phenomena do constitute a common threat which must be confronted by everyone together. But in designating these dangers as the enemy, we fall into the trap,
which we have already warned readers about, namely mistaking symptoms for causes. All these dangers are caused by human intervention in natural processes, and it is only through changed attitudes and behaviour that they can be overcome. The real enemy then is humanity itself."
And when you looked at the Club of Rome's elite member roster. And when you learnt about eugenics and the Rockefeller ties to the Kaiser Willhelm Institute and the practice of crypto-eugenics and the rise of overpopulation fearmongering and the call by elitist after elitist after elitist to cull the world population.

Still, you wanted to believe that there was some basis of truth, something real and valuable in the single-minded obsession of this hijacked environmental movement with manmade global warming. Now, in November 2009, the last traces of doubt have been removed...

...we can take back the environmental movement.
We can begin to concentrate on the serious questions that need to be asked about the genetic engineering technology whereby hybrid organisms and new, never-before-seen proteins that are being released into the biosphere in a giant, uncontrolled experiment that threatens the very genome of life on this planet.

We can look into the environmental causes of the explosion in cancer and the staggering drops in fertility over the last 50 years, including the BPA in our plastics and the anti-androgens in the water. We can examine regulatory agencies that are controlled by the very corporations they are supposedly watching over.

We can begin focusing on depleted uranium and the dumping of toxic waste into the rivers and all of the issues that we once knew were part of the mandate of the real environmental movement.

Or we can, as some have, descend into petty partisan politics. We can decide that lies are OK if they support 'our' side. We can defend the reprehensible actions of the CRU researchers and rally around the green flag that has long since been captured by the enemy. It is a simple decision to make, but one that we must make quickly, before the argument can be spun away and environmentalism can go back to business as usual.

We are at a crossroads of history. And make no mistake, history will be the final judge of our actions. So I leave you today with a simple question: Which side of history do you want to be on?
For The Corbett Report, this is James Corbett in western Japan.

Honduras Coup Regime Declares New State of Emergency Prior to Sunday “Election”

By Al Giordano
November 25, 2009 - The Gaceta Oficial, ("Official Gazette") of the Honduras coup regime is now freshly printed and has three new decrees and two orders restricting freedom of the press, the right to bear arms and officially strips Catholic Father Andres Tamayo of his Honduran citizenship, ordering him expelled from the country (the good Padre left for El Salvador last week). Here are a few of the regime’s greatest hits from this week’s barrage of repressive decrees which are expressly part of what the coup leaders call an "election" coming up on Sunday... Read all

Elections in Honduras are set for Sunday, Nov. 29, but the ongoing human rights crisis--sparked by the military-backed coup last June--has both locals and international experts wondering if a free, transparent ballot vote is even possible. "We are living under a military dictatorship," said presidential candidate Carlos H. Reyes, in an exclusive interview with In These Times. "There is no historical precedent for successful elections under a government like this," said Reyes, who was third in the polls and the anti-coup movement's preferred candidate until he pulled out of the race last week. "In a system like this one, there are no constitutional guarantees. Everything is up to the whims of the dictator. Given the situation, I had no choice but to step down." And Reyes isn't alone. Dozens of other candidates have dropped out of the race, and human rights groups have warned that the Honduran military may use the elections as an excuse to unleash violence on the general public in order to maintain their grip on power. "As elections near, we expect the violence to increase," said Andres Pavon, president of the Committee for the Defense of Human Rights in Honduras (CODEH). "That is the only way…

The United States are back in Latin America. The military coup in Honduras marked the beginning of Washington's renewed grip on that continent. While another coup was thwarted in Paraguay, the United States, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands have been deploying new forces to encircle the ALBA countries with a view to attacking Nicaragua, Ecuador and Venezuela. Readying for the gathering storm, Chile has embraced the North-American camp and stockpiled a powerful arsenal.

Ousted Honduran president Manuel Zelaya has slammed the US for supporting Sunday's presidential elections, saying that the US is supporting a coup-perpetrating regime. "The United States is not just supporting the elections but it is supporting the de facto regime, it is supporting the dictatorship, it is supporting the coup-perpetrating regime," Zelaya said in a telephone interview published on Thursday by the Brazilian website UOL.

Washington endorses gunpoint election in Honduras By Bill Van Auken 27 Nov 2009
The Obama administration has declared its support for elections being held this Sunday in Honduras, under conditions in which the regime that came to power in a coup last June has refused to cede power and is preparing intense repression against those who oppose it. The action has placed Washington at odds with virtually all of Latin America, whose governments have refused to recognize the elections as legitimate.

War crimes updates: news on the Iraq invasion

Just in from CLG:

Iraq inquiry: Britain rejected regime change as illegal in 2001 --British officials discussed toppling Saddam Hussein in 2001 but rejected a policy of "regime change" as illegal under international law, the Iraq war inquiry has heard.

24 Nov 2009 On its opening day of public hearings, Sir John Chilcot’s public inquiry into the invasion heard that British diplomats heard the "drumbeat" of war emanating from Washington even before the September 11 terrorist attacks. The inquiry into the war, which cost 179 lives, opened yesterday with a promise from Sir John, a former Whitehall mandarin, to "get to the heart of what happened" and "not shy away" from criticising anyone who made mistakes.

Iraq inquiry: Bush administration 'discussing regime change two years before invasion' --Elements of the new US administration of President [sic] George Bush were already discussing ''regime change'' in Iraq two years before the invasion of 2003, the official inquiry into the war has been told.

24 Nov 2009 Sir Peter Ricketts, who was chairman of the Joint Intelligence Committee in 2001, said there was concern in both London and Washington that the strategy of ''containment'' of Saddam Hussein was ''failing''. Giving evidence at the first public hearings of the inquiry, he said a review of the Iraq policy was already under way in Whitehall in anticipation of the arrival of the new Bush administration. He said that, in discussions with Secretary of State Colin Powell, it appeared the Americans were ''thinking very much on the same lines''.

'UK complicity is clear.' 'Cruel, illegal, immoral': Human Rights Watch condemns UK's role in torture --Pressure for inquiry grows as torturers themselves allege British complicity

24 Nov 2009 The attorney general was under intense pressure tonight to order a wider series of police investigations into British complicity in torture after one of the world's leading human rights organisations said there was clear evidence of the UK government's involvement in the torture of its own citizens. After an investigation spanning more than a year, Human Rights Watch (HRW) today condemned Britain's role in the torture of terror suspects detained in Pakistan as cruel, counter-productive and in clear breach of international law.
